NHS Digital Urgent and Emergency Care webinar

NHS Digital Urgent and Emergency Care webinar

Are you a commissioner of Urgent and Emergency Care services, a UEC provider or system supplier? Do you want to help shape how NHS Digital can make information more visible as patients flow through UEC?

If so, please join NHS England and NHS Digital in partnership with techUK for a discussion on NHS Digital’s ambitions for the patient encounter history programme over the next few years.

The webinar will take place on Wednesday 20 July from 10-12.

About the patient encounter history programme

Patient Encounter History (PEH) is a summary of a patient’s journey through urgent and emergency care services. It is meant to give clinicians enough details to be able to understand the patient’s condition, help spot deterioration and improve the patient’s journey. The aim is to:

  • Improve clinical safety
  • Increase clinician confidence
  • Increase patient satisfaction.

NHS Digital are hoping to achieve this by:

  • Reducing repeated contact with Urgent and Emergency Care
  • Creating shorter patient journeys addressing problems early in the patient’s journey
  • Preventing escalation by identifying worsening conditions sooner.

What’s covered in the session?

NHS England will describe the intent behind this work and NHS Digital will talk through the research done so far and initial solution thinking. They are aiming to get early feedback from UEC service providers and system suppliers to ensure their solution considers suppliers’ expertise. They are also looking to identify regions who would be interested in taking part in a full end to end UEC pilot.

Who should attend?

UEC Service providers including:

  • 111 and CAS providers
  • UEC and EPR System suppliers
  • GP Out of Hours providers
  • Ambulance Trusts
  • UTC providers
  • ED representatives from hospital trusts
  • Commissioners of UEC services
