Welcome back to techUK’s AI Leaders Lunchtime Lecture Series, where each month we ask a different world-leading expert on AI to offer their opinions on the greatest opportunities and challenges that need to be addressed to get our AI future right

This month we’re delighted to be joined by Anthony Bak, Head of AI Implementation at Palantir. In this talk we discuss how and why what seem like successful AI research results do not translate from the lab to applications and propose how government policy and private industry can structure AI research to improve real world impact.

Speaker bio:

Anthony Bak is Head of AI Implementation at Palantir where he leads AI projects with customers, sets the company’s approach to AI, and founded the AI policy team. Prior to Palantir he led R&D at a AI platform startup.  He has a PhD in Mathematics from the University of Pennsylvania and has held research positions at Stanford University, The American Institute of Mathematics, and the Max-Plank Institute.
